Welcome to Deenabandhu

Deenabandhu is a charitable Non-Profit Organization located in Chamarajnagar. Deenabandhu works towards the education and rehabilitation of orphan, destitute and estranged children. Chamarajnagar is a border district of Karnataka abutting Kerala and Tamilnadu states and is one of the economically very backward districts.

Deenabandhu Home currently has 45 boys and 31 girls on its rolls.

* Boys and girls, deprived of their parental care who are in the age group of 4 to 6 years are accepted. We conduct a thorough home study before accepting the children.

* Every child, once accepted, is educated and nurtured until Class X after which the child can choose the course that appeals to him/her. The support to the child is continued till he/she reaches economic self reliance.

* Each child is educated inline with his/her latent potential.

The trust also runs a primary school for children from nearby villages and provides highly subsidized education for children from marginalized communities.

Deenabandhu has also established a Teacher Resource Center which provides sustainable support for professional development of government primary school teachers. It currently covers 170 teachers in 30 government schools, supporting 3000 kids.

Deenabandhu is also working for women empowerment through our rural development program of self-help groups (SHG).

Deenabandhu, through its Scholarship program provides a modest economic support annually for 60 to 70 college going students, who are academically bright but economically deprived.
