Deenabandhu Primary School was Founded in 1998. The intension was to expand innovative child upbringing experiences of children's home to other children from the community. The school has a spacious building with special pentagonal class rooms, assembly hall, computer lab, chemistry lab, library and a special resource center. The school walls are painted with beautiful pictures connected with science, geography, etc.
The school caters to children from LKG to 7th standard. Each class housing not more than 35 children. A nutritious mid-day meal is provided for all the children. Though school does not get government grant, education in Deenabandhu is highly subsidized and only a participatory fee is collected by children.
Indo-MIM, Hoskote, Bangalore is the sole donor of Deenabandhu Primary School.We are very grateful that the Indo-MIM company has taken an initiative to support the entire expenditure incurred for running of “Deenabandhu Primary School” located in Chamarajanagara district, Karnataka, India. Not only it covers the mid-day meals of the primary kids, but at the same time, it supports the salaries of the teachers and also helps in providing the computer and science lab application to students. Indo-MIM is providing 100% grant for running the primary school and nurturing the young minds for better future.
Tata Institute of Social Studies (TISS), Mumbai undertook action research at Deenabandhu Resource Center and recognized it as a very unique model in India.
Director, Department of State Education Research and Training (DSERT), Karnataka has recognized that Deenabandhu Teacher's Resource Center is a desirable model to be established in all District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) in Karnataka.
